Legacy Society
The monks deeply appreciate your generous support for Mount Angel Abbey and Seminary. Sometimes a donor wants to do more than they can currently afford, or want to leave a lasting tribute to Mount Angel Abbey after they pass on. Estate gifts are a sound way to do this. The monks of Mount Angel depend on these generous gifts to continue their holy work. For instance, bequests recently paid for a substantial portion of the remodeled Saint Benedict Guesthouse and Retreat Center, one of the principal apostolates of Mount Angel. The monks thank you for considering such an impactful gift.
Should you decide to make a charitable gift in your estate plan, you become part of the Legacy Society. The Society honors and thanks contributors who pledge a future gift to the Abbey Foundation of Oregon, either through a bequest in their will or trust, or by listing Mount Angel Abbey as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance policy, or bank account. It is through the generosity of people like you that our community continues the apostolic works of Mount Angel Abbey.

Legacy Society members are remembered with gratitude in the following ways:
- In the daily Mass of the monastic community
- Through enrollment in the Daily Community Mass prayer program
- With an invitation to the Abbot's appreciation event
- In the Abbey Foundation Annual Report (unless you request anonymity at any time)
- By receiving a blessed St. Benedict medal
- By receiving the Mount Angel Letter magazine, mailed three times a year
- By receiving the Legacy Newsletter, mailed twice a year
